Tour de France - Day 8

Armstrong holds off rivals, keeps Tour de France lead
GERARDMER, France (AP) -- Lance Armstrong fended off fierce challenges Saturday and kept his overall lead at the Tour de France in the race's hardest mountain climb so far.
Dutch rider Pieter Weening of the Rabobank team won the eighth stage by a whisker in a sprint against Andreas Kloeden, last year's Tour runner-up.
Armstrong, bidding for a seventh straight title before he retires, had to hold off Kloeden and his T-Mobile teammates on the day's final climb.
