Mexican Dorkfest 2005

Again, does anyone really care? I wonder how many pocket protectors were here.
Thousands of chess players gathered Saturday, June 25, 2005, in Pachuca, Mexico, in an attempt to set a world record for simultaneous playing, at a public park in central Mexico. Mostly children arrived on a cloudy, windy morning, hoping to earn a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The current simultaneous chess record was set in Havana in 2002, where 11,320 competitors gathered to played chess at the same time.
